Bovine TB: Changes to cattle measures from 1st January 2013 Tighter control measures to reduce the risk of bovine TB spreading between cattle are to be introduced as part of the drive to eradicate the disease in England. The strengthened rules, which will come into force from 1st January 2013, include changes to the surveillance testing regime and cattle movement controls. Further details on the measures being introduced are in the attached letter to Stakeholders and TB Information Notes: The changes to the rules around movements of cattle on and off TB-restricted premises in England build upon other tightening of cattle controls introduced in July 2012. As in July, we are aware that the changes outlined above will have implications for farm businesses and to address the communications challenges we have repeated the publication of numbered TB Information Notes (TBINs). These TBINs form a coherent and accessible information record for those who need to know about developments to our bovine TB programme.
