GISBURN AUCTION MARTS CHRISTMAS CALF SHOW

Overall champion at Gisburn Auction Marts Christmas show and sale of rearing
calves on Thursday 27th November 2008 was a four-week-old British Blue bull
calf from seventeen year old James Huck, Hubberholme, Buckden, Skipton, North
Yorkshire.

The calf sired by Lukeroyal Admiral, out of a heifer sold for £325
to beef bull finishers Keith & Denise Lavin, Garswood, Wigan, Lancs.
Mr Huck, a keen member of Wharfedale Young Farmers club, was delighted with
his win.
Winning the reserve award was renowned calf producer Jim Faud, Great Harwood,
Blackburn, with his second prize British Blue bull that sold for £378
to John Swann, Little Ouseburn, York. Mr Faud was in the money again when
his next three British Blue bull calves, sired by Genus Fertility Plus sold
for £358, £290 & £278, giving him an average sale price
of £326.
