Kirkby Stephen Annual Prize Show and Sale of Suckled Calves

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their annual prize show and sale of suckled calves where a catalogued entry of 553 cattle was on offer.

The overall championship went to a very smart 7 month old British Blue Heifer from local breeders Mark and Andrew Brown, Asby Hall.

A top class show of quality suckled calves were on offer, with the pre sale was kindly sponsored by J G Animal Health, Dugdale Nutrition, Novartis Animal Health, North West Limousin Breeders Club and British Blue Cattle Society and was ably judged by Brain and Angela Tarry-Smith, Warwick, who awarded the overall championship to a very smart 7 month old British Blue Heifer which was a full sister to last year’s champion from local breeders Mark and Andrew Brown, Asby Hall. Which later went on to top the sale at £1460 and was purchased by John White, Lunesdale?

Taking the reserve overall championship was a showy 5 month old British Blue bullock from Messrs Marston, Easegill Head which brought £1400 and was purchased by Kevin Ludgate, Tebworth.
