New TB Rules for England

2nd July 2012

REMINDER:
BOVINE TB: CHANGES TO CATTLE MEASURES FROM 1 JULY 2012

Following our email to you on 2 May, this is to remind you of certain revisions to cattle movement controls that come into force on 1 July. At the same time changes to compensation policy, including reduced payments for owners of TB affected herds with overdue tests, will be implemented. These changes strengthen measures in place to reduce the risk of bovine TB being spread between cattle and are part of the Government's plan to eradicate the disease in England.

Further details on the new measures can be found in three TB Information Notes on our website at:

http://www.defra.gov.uk/animal-diseases/files/tb-infonote-1201-compensation.pdf

http://www.defra.gov.uk/animal-diseases/files/tb-infonote-1203-cts-links.pdf

Please feel free to circulate this to members of your organisation. This will help to ensure that people who might be affected by these changes are aware of them.

Many thanks,

TB Programme
