There was a tremendous show of quality British Belgian Blue cattle, at the annual, autumn show & sale, held at Dungannon Farmers Mart on Saturday 8th November 2003, organised by The Northern Ireland British Blue Club, under the auspices of the British Belgian Blue Cattle Society.

Seygorry Tattoo

The judge, Brendon Arthurs, from Portaferry, put up "Seygorry Tattoo" as Supreme Champion, bred by Samuel A Milliken. Tattoo was out of Woodview Marylin, by Park Phirst Minster. Tattoo found a new home with E & E Humes, Drumharvey, Ervinestown for 2000gns. The Reserve Championship going to the Martin Bros. stable, with "Springhill Tremendous" a January 2001 born heifer, out of Springhill Panda ET by Seduisant De Fooz.

The Reserve Male Championship went to the Woodview Herd, of Andrew W Craig, with "Woodview Uggy." Uggy was out of Woodview Lulu ET, by Visconti De St Fontaine.

The Reserve Champion Female going to the Chatham Herd of JM Morrison & Son with "Chatham Tara" This October 2001 born daughter of Chatham Robin was by their stock bull Lenborough Oliver.

The Northern Ireland Club is indebted to The Northern Bank, for very kindly sponsoring this show & sale.

Keen interest was shown for "Chatham Uriah" A March 2000 bull by Chatham Lavinia ET again by Lenborough Oliver, which was knocked down at 3800 gns to William Robinson, Glenarm, Co Antrim.

" Springhill Uproar ET" bred by Martin Bros out of Springhill Nightingale by Alambic De Baillonville found a new home with H Buchannon & Sons, Ballantare, Girvan, Scotland, for 2900 gns.

R Creith, Bushmills, purchased "Chatham Universe" a January 2002 animal out of Chatham Phyllis by Lenborough Oliver for 2100 gns.

Chatham Uriah

" Baronagh Blues Tosh" from Robert J McCormick, realised 2000 gns. This November 2001 born bull out of Hillview Nan by "Torrero Du Grand Courty" found a new home with S Mulvenna at Ballygally.

There was a keen demand for females, with "Chatham Tara" an October 2001 heifer being knocked down at 1600 gns, to Oliver Maguiness, Eglinton. Sam Milliken's "Seygorry Sue ET" making 1400 gns, to Jill Kelso, Rock, Dungannon.

Auctioneer Trevor Wyllie, commented "Buyers were cautiously selective, paying above average money for quality stock."
