Success all round for WBBBC club members at Carlisle
Wales and Borders members enjoyed a very successful weekend at Carlisle
on 16th & 17th May 2008.
There was a clean sweep for club members in Class 5 with Graham Brindley’s
Bringlee Bouncer taking first place, followed by Elfed & Sheena
Thomas with Betws Byron and Wynne & Linda Morgan’s Ty Isaf
Baroque. Graham’s success with his bull continued as he went
on to make the Reserve Senior Male Champion. Not forgetting Graham’s
other first prize winner Bringlee Cajoleur.
Rhys and Gill Bellis also had great success, with their heifers Betws
Blanco and Betws Baba coming 1st and 2nd in their class. Betws Blanco
then went on to become the show’s Overall Reserve Female Champion.
Betws Byron was also bred by Rhys and Gill.

Wales & Borders British Blue Club Calf Show
2008
Arrangements have been made for this years calf show
to be held at Newcastle Emlyn, Carmarthenshire on Saturday 11th October.
There will be classes for both pedigree and crossbred calves covering
ages up to 12 months.
Entry forms will be sent to members early in August, with the closing
date for entries 11th September. We will also soon be posting more
information on the website.
Newcastle Emlyn should have been the calf show venue in 2007 but
unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control we were unable
to hold it. In future, it is intended to hold the show in a different
region of Wales & the Borders each year. Lobby your local rep
if you would like the show to be in your area.
Wales and Borders News
The next issue of the Wales and Borders News is being prepared and
will hopefully include news of not only the larger shows but also
the local ones which often get overlooked. A lot of people have shown
an interest in hearing about how other members are getting on. We
are having a show section in the newsletter, so please let us have
dates of shows to be held in your area. We are also very keen to
have pictures and results of shows, which we can include.

so we can also include this information.
